Hello!
I just found out that Positron doesn't support wav files: when you try to add a wav files to neuros database it says explicitly it's not a supported format!
I couldn't find any address of this problem on any web resource, so I ask if somebody has any information on this issue. Is there a planned release of positron which will resolve this problem? Thanks, Marco

I'm not sure what the status of Positron is. I've heard in the links below that the CVS tree is somewhat active, but the binary release hasn't been touched. You might try getting it from CVS instead of using the binary on xiph.org, as there are features in the CVS tree that aren't yet in a binary release.
There's some discussion in this thread: http://www.neurosaudio.com/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2945 on how actively developed Positron is. If the CVS version doesn't support wav files, you might want to try NeurosDBM or try to get some people to band together and actively maintain/support/add new features to Positron.
Here's another thread discussing in part where Positron's at: http://www.neurosaudio.com/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2926

Message: Adding wav support to Positron should be a trivial exercise. I bet even I could figure out how to do it in less than an hour (and I don't know Python very well...)

It would be an interesting exercise to see how long it takes to be committed to CVS.

I took a look a while back, and it did look pretty easy. The problem is with WMA files. There are python modules for Ogg Vorbis and MP3, but none that I know of for WMA. Once you got WMA tag info going, I was sold on NDBM

Yeah, that's the $64,000 question in my mind. Well I guess there are two of them: - Why are there patches in bugzilla that have not landed in CVS?
- Why has there not been an official release since 1.0 when it is clear that 1.0 has some huge problems which are largely addressed in CVS?
sigh...

Let's start the countdown. I agree with Nick that the lack of a new release is a major issue. I also don't understand why his patch hasn't been accepted. It's so trivial that I figure there must be some reason, especially since Stan has been working on CVS lately. Fortunately, it's the only pending patch in bugzilla (I think).

Patch applied 4:33 UTC, Nick's patch is in as well. Hopefully an official release will be forthcoming.

That's great news Alec, thanks for getting the ball rolling. An official release would be wonderful
