-neuros I (grey unit), usb1.1
-128mb flash and 40gig usb2.0 backpacks
-newest firmware
my pc system:
-debian sid(unstable)
-usb and mass storage drivers work, no problems
-positron works without problems
-connected to neuros via usb 1.1 (no usb2.0 yet..)
the problem is:
after i copy any data to the neuros (manually or thru positron sync) i cannot unmount the neuros.
'umount /mnt/neuros' just hangs (and the neuros still shows 'do not disconnect') and i have to just pull out the usb cable resulting in broken files that the neuros cant play. mounting and unmountig for firmware transfer or without any data transfer works.
plz help i am really desperate, i live in germany and paid a lot shipping and import taxes and do not have windows (and dont want windows!!!), in addition i do not have the possibility to return the neuros, so right now i have very expansive and big and heavy portable radio...

How are you mounting the Neuros? You might try the sync option (mount -o sync). This can sometimes solve the problem. Also what kernel are you using?

Here is the line inside my /etc/fstab for the neuros
/dev/sda1 /mnt/neuros vfat users,user,noauto,umask=0000 0 0
When I umount /mnt/neuros it will stop and wait, (as linux buffers disk writes) so it will take a little while to transfer the files from the buffer to the actual unit. I just wait until the neuros says it is safe (generally 5-10 minutes when I transfer around 30 songs).
The sync option above will make it happen in realtime I believe.
Try this to sync
/dev/sda1 /mnt/neuros vfat users,user,noauto,umask=0000,sync 0 0
