Subject: Ogg Vorbis help I am about to buy Neuros II 30GB, I have most of my songs in Ogg files, bitrate 160, and I want to know if anyone else is using b160 Oggs if it skips on MiFi and when it is just played. Thanks

Reply author: Derek i have about 180 ogg files that are 192's and have had no problems at all with playing them...i have heard of some people having problems but not me. NDBM, positron and sorune all work with linux..
Reply author: Iv.S Thank you so much!
Reply author: Derek good question...nobody really knows. I have used like every version of firmware i could find and have used both NSM and NBDM and have never had a problem???
Reply author: Iv.S wow thats strange..unless they sent you, somehow, a better version of Neuros
Reply author: Derek well i was sent a better one by accident...but it was still a neuros one...but the neuros #3 is rummored to come out around christmas 2005 but i would still get the one now because i have not had many problems with ogg files and the neuros people are really good about upgrading..so if you wanted a neuros #3 you could probobly send the old one in for an upgrade when the time comes...im sorry if my typing is off im very tired...
Reply author: Iv.S christmas 2005? that is too long I can't wait that long...a second year of waitin for Neuros? no way..yeah, I will probably get Neuros II 30GB soon then..hopefully my bro will know what to do in Linux, since I am not as oriented as him..I just hope mine wont have any problems with OGGs, and playing them on MiFi..
Reply author: Iv.S anybody knows if the Neuros is gonna go on sale after Christmas or no? please reply!
Reply author: Gauge In my experience, Q6 ogg files with have occasional millisecond skips (or just moments of silence, not sure) while playing back over Neurocast (formerly known as Myfi). In the few times I've listened to it on headphones, I don't recall there being any skips.
Reply author: Iv.S I just bought the 30GB one, and it is still processing for the past 5 days

Reply author: Iv.S oh yay! Got my Neuros today...and I have another question..I bought the 30GB as one piece, but there is a backpack release button thing on my Neuros...I dont know, but it seems like you can part Neuros and the backpack..but I dont want to touch it and destroy it..so I just wanna know, those of you who got the whole Neuros as in one piece, do you have the backpack release thing there?
Reply author: The J That little release button is there so you can remove the backpack from the control unit (part with the screen). This allows you to upgrade to a higher capacity hard drive backpack or a smaller backpack with only a battery in it (so the player becomes a flash-based one). You can look in the Neuros Store for a list of the available backpacks.
