OSX Neuros Dock Icon Printed from: Neuros Forums Topic: Topic author: Llama
Subject: OSX Neuros Dock Icon Since i think that i heard that the new usb 2.0 units will be fully compatible with OSX, which means it can write and read, i thought that the people who use OSX might like an icon for their OSX dock, since the icons that come with NSM are way to small for the dock, because it enlarges it and looks really pixelated, i thought that in my boredom, i would make them an icon.......since nsm wont work on mac, they can just use this for ndbm

Reply author: Chameleon I made an icon for my IconBar (similar to the Dock). Edit: actually, it's called StarterBar.
Reply author: Llama i made an icon like yours, but i thought i'd customize it a little bit by adding the name in the middle, i tried making the white transparent, it looked terribe against my desktop background, so i stayed with the white instead. i use objectdock, you can download themes for it from wincustomize.com
Reply author: the_emo_kid its linux......

Reply author: Llama because i'm a stupid stupid windows user
Reply author: demonbane That's one busy desktop you've got there. :) Judging by that bottom panel it looks like Gnome meets OSX. (With the Aqua theme no less) Coincidentally, what is that weather program you have running. I haven't seen it before. I usually just use the regular Gnome weather applet but that certainly looks spiffy. :)
Reply author: Third Rail Design Lab great icon!
Reply author: Third Rail Design Lab I guess i was lookin at the Neuros icon for the HD on your desktop, not theonein the sys tray, but hey, they's all good!

quote: Hehe, thanks!! Yes, it's Fedora Core 1 running Gnome 2.4. The desk toys are gDesklets, which are implemented entirely in Python. The 'dock' like bar is actually called StarterBar and it's entirely customizable, even resizeable. It can also be oriented horizontally or vertically. Edit: Oh, and I got the background from misanthropia.net! Order Number: 2249

Reply author: the_emo_kid So what is the terminal program you're running?

Reply author: Chameleon It was me.
Reply author: Llama hehehe, got kind of embarresed by a stupid post i made wen i was really tired and not thinkin, i said "wut OS are u using, it cant be windows" and then suggested a website called WinCustomize.com to use, i can say some stupid things some times
Reply author: Matthias Halibrand Actually to come to the original topic,
Reply author: Llama yeah, i made it when i just started using photoshop, i could probly make a good one, but laziness will not permit. if anyone could make one of those 3D lookin icons i've seen on some sites, that would be awsome
Reply author: Matthias Halibrand I will see what I can do for you, maybe I will have some time during the next days. It would be helpful if you could give a link to such an 3D-Icon, so I can see what you meant!
Reply author: Llama here's an example, someone took the boring musicmatch logo and "3d-ified" it
Reply author: Matthias Halibrand I uploaded the same logos like before but a little bit 3d-ified ...
Reply author: Llama thanks for the icons Matthias

quote: Wow, nice icons! I tried to do the smooth edges, but didn't have much success. I like your 3d-ish icons, too, except that the ligh source seems to be directly above rather than angled... -- 'I switched to Vorbis and saved a bunch on my hard-disk space!'
Reply author: Matthias Halibrand Yeah, I know what you mean, but actually the position of the light source didn't change the appearance, or changed it very badly because it's just a too low resolution. It was a small job though, so I propably could do better if I spend more time. If a few people insist, I will do, but until then it should be O.K. for now ...
Reply author: Chameleon I'm going to try a rendered icon in either Caligary trueSpace or Blender3D. Neuros Forums : http://www.neurosaudio.com/community/forum/ © Copyright ©2002-05 Neuros Technology International, LLC all rights reserved. |
