as i had hinted earlier that sorune would hopefully become more public, i have just got permission to add the forums that i made for sorune. the link to the website is http://www.sorune.tk. you can sign up for the forums there and also since i dont have a ton of bandwidth for that site i made a yahoo group that you can download sorune from easier (you can find out how if you read the forums). hopefully this will help more people try out sorune since it is more public.

I'll host Sorune, if you need bandwidth, to avoid the Yahoo signup that most people will have to endure otherwise. Email me.

I would also like to volunteer hosting the sorune download. We just re-launched our website today and we out to make the best places to find out information about the Neuros.

Although the website if fully functional now we are moving ahead with making it better and better.

I will also like to host all other apps for the Neuros including Positron and NDBM.

one of the things that i really like about sorune is that it keeps your directory stucture when you load on music. this helps when you are on a different computer and your music is organized the way you like it on the neuros.

P.S. yeah, my html skills arnt the greatest and the host im with seems to be slower than when i first signed up.

NDBM preserves directory structure. You just have to configure it correctly.

Extended ASCII is not available because of the firmware. Sync software will not help.

Speed should be comparable between NDBM and Sorune. NSM is slower.

Sorune has some purty colors, I guess.

Best thing is to try them all and pick the one you like. Easy enough to switch...

yeah, its pretty much just a matter of what you prefer. you should try NDBM and Sorune out and see which one you like better.

On the issue of extended ASCII, we are speaking of the filename or the tag info which causes the problem (and any easy-fix suggestions?) Thanks:)

Both have issues. The Neuros has a firmware limitation that filenames can only contain characters with a unicode scalar value of 255 or less. The second you put a U+0100 or above in a file name, the Neuros can't see it. So you can have _some_ extended ASCII on your Neuros in the file names.

The second problem is that the Neuros can't display non-ASCII (and I strictly mean ASCII, not cp1252 or whatever) characters, so tags with those characters will be mis-displayed (as spaces, I think).

I think it's showing underlines, and it's ASCII 7 Bit, for all those who still think an ö or an é is ASCII, too!

Noize: I also use phpBB2; nice, isn't it? (I use it at my web site Guytalk.org)

You might want to check out http://www.forumimages.com/ They have free themes for phpBB2, and their FI Black looks quite appropriate for a Neuros-related Forum.

We'll congratulations on Sorune. I would have said hello on your forums, but I couldn't find an appropriate place to post it. As always, let us know if there's anything we can do to help.

http://www.sorune.tk was just ugly, so i just uploaded a new temporary main page. id like to thank webkid for hosting the sorune files but i think that my server can handle hosting them now... i just made this new logo for sorune that will hopefully be put into the next version of sorune. also, if you dont like the pop-up for the site, just get a browser like firefox that automatically blocks them (i even included a link on where to download firefox). hope you all like this new temporary site, i should hopefully have the totally new and improved www.sorune.tk up by next week.

Don't know why, but I still can't resolve sorune.tk. I was having this issue before. Why'd you go with such a crappy TLD?

You're not selling me on it... that doesn't resolve, either.

I wasn't trying to sell you on it, just provide a possible explanation. If you want to read up on it, you can go here. Weird that your DNS servers can't resolve it, though.

I like the new page (and the new Sorune logo -- hope that DI doesn't mind). Can't wait to see the new site.
