Reply author: Yono Well...for informational purposes only (I am not responsible for what you do with this informaiton and neither is DI) there was a topic way back when: http://www.neurosaudio.com/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3628
Reply author: mbryner Thanks Yono! That's what I'm looking for. (Must have missed that thread. That was about the time I bought my Neuros.) It looks like you were involved w/ that thread -- you didn't try it? The link for how to solder the RF port is dead (http://lupvista.org/neuros), but I e-mailed someone else who may have the diagram. Does anyone else have it? I can host it on my server if it works. Did anyone else on that thread try this mod and what were your results?
Reply author: Yono I was involved in the thread, but not enough information was given for me to try the mod myself (TO THE FCC: I would never do anything illegal, I would simply build it for expirimental purposes ) Anyway, ask around, someone might still have a cached copy of that lupavista page lying around.
Reply author: webkid It's not like the FCC is tracing your IP, 209.142.21.150.
Reply author: Yono Ahh I sense Agent Smith....I mean Mr. Powell....he's watching me again!
Reply author: mbryner OK, I tried the hands-free kit antenna thing again. It really boosts output signal on MyFi quite a bit, which is exactly what I wanted. It doesn't do much for radio reception though. My results aren't quite what was advertised in the other thread about overpowering moderate stations on the same frequency, but the Neuros can overpower weaker stations now at least, and I can walk about 20 ft away from the stereo before the signal gets crackly.

Reply author: CUTR Since a hands free cell phone kit plugged in "without" cutting off the mic and earplug seems to have little affect, is it safe to assume the length to get to 1/4 or 1/8 wavelength is critical? If so, exactly how long should the antenna be from tip of plug to the end? Should the wires be connected when cut or does it not matter?

quote: It seems you have to make a "correct" dipole antenna for the optimum effect -- length? ??? I tried connecting the cut wires from the hands free kit, but it didn't seem to make any difference in the signal strength. You'll have to look at lupavista.org original article which still isn't back up (he had links to various resources), or other sources on building dipole antennas. My "antenna" is about 3 ft long and works best when it's straight vertical. quote: yeah, I saw your post and others back then -- guess I should have just included a link! I have a zipped copy of lupavista's article w/ images, if anyone wants it by e-mail. Marcus Bryner
