Hard drive replacement Printed from: Neuros Forums Topic: Topic author: marcboy(at)gmail.com
Subject: Hard drive replacement I'm considering buying one of these beautiful players and have been looking around the forums of things people have done with them. I was wondering when replacing the hard drive yourself, what is the largest that the neuros will recognise? or is there no limit?

Reply author: marcboy(at)gmail.com yeh i know that, its not something i'd do strate away, i jus like to tinker with things :D
Reply author: marcboy(at)gmail.com the reason im asking is im wondering if its posible (its most likely not) to put say a 300GB drive in. Jus out of curiousity though, i dont see anyone needing that much space.
Reply author: guttrhead(at)gmail.com it uses 2.5" drives, i think the biggest they got now is 100gb. you can switch them, its been done before and they're sold as high as 80gb. My guessid that 100 would be ok, not sure though and I don't rember what you gotta do to format them.

Reply author: peterskm The 100GB drive will work.

quote: I just installed an 80 GB hard disc today and it worked perfectly just using the built in formatting tool and then rebuilding the data via Sorune. I got my 80 GB hard drive for free too :-D (I work at a computer shop) I had to mention this because I am so happy about it. Upgraded from a 30 GB unit to an 80 GB unit for only the cost of a T6 Torque wrench.
