Reply author: Chameleon The appropriate place for feature requests is in BugZilla. I'm kind of confused though... The functionality you want is already built into the Presets (what you call quickbuttons). Have you ever tried them? Try holding one of the preset buttons in the middle of a track to assign to that exact position (pause if you want to be ultra-precise) and skip to the next track, then press and release the preset button you just assigned to go back to the exact time in the song you preset. You could even accomplish what you want with the automatic resume on power-up if you power-down in the middle of a track. -- 'I switched to Vorbis and saved a bunch on my hard-disk space!'
Reply author: guttrhead(at)gmail.com I think he wants the buttons to skip a certain amount in any song, not just ones he sets presets in.
Reply author: Chameleon That was apparent. I was pointing out existing functionality that might offer the same or a similar result. I also pointed out the BugZilla system if my answer did not suffice.
Reply author: Zithromax I believe the point of that feature would be the ability to more quickly go to a spot on an audio file without having to hold down the ffwd button.
Reply author: Chameleon Again, that was apparent.
Reply author: Zithromax That was not at all apparent in your reply. The suggestion you gave would not help you quickly go through a file you have not already preset. I have often lost presets just by adding or removing tracks from the Neuros. The preset is shifted onto another track. His suggestion would help make that not such an annoyance when you have to ffwd through 1 and 1/2 hours of audio.

quote: hy, sorry that's not what i was asking for. auto-resume is fine, i'm glad it exists, but nevertheless it works only with the current track playing. the preset thing you described doesn't help me either, i want a "fast-seek" in an possible file, not just the ones i "presetted" before. "I think he wants the buttons to skip a certain amount in any song, not just ones he sets presets in." and "I believe the point of that feature would be the ability to more quickly go to a spot on an audio file without having to hold down the ffwd button." summarize what my posting was about. however, i'm adding it to the bugzilla asap :=) thanks!

Reply author: rynoomega I wonder why this bug doesn't get more votes! I have been desperately hoping for progress on this for a long time. Any updates would be welcome..
Reply author: tecxx this needs a bump...

Reply author: Zithromax That's probably unfortunate because I bet it would be 10 times easier to implement the faster seek option than it would be to add a codec.
