NI turns on, off, on, off, never stops Printed from: Neuros Forums Topic: Topic author: tribble
Subject: NI turns on, off, on, off, never stops After my last sync and automatic firmware update, my neuros keeps resetting itself. I turn it on and the main menu comes up, but it then immediately turns itself off, then back on, then off, lather, rinse, repeat. It goes through 2 or three cycles per second. This behavior occurs with the power cord plugged in; without it, it doesn't come on at all. What the heck is going on? How can I make it stop? It's useless in this condition...

Reply author: kronin Take the brain off the backpack and charge the backpack itself overnight.
Reply author: Derek Kronin is right, that should fix your problem...
Reply author: toygod(at)misaligned.net tribble, did this fix your problem? i just got a used one for x-mas and the 128 small backpack is doing this exact thing to me.
Reply author: The J That happens to mine (Neuros HD grey unit) when the battery is too low and it's plugged in. The Neuros will try to spin the hard drive, but the "low battery" warning will tell the player to shut off. I usually just let it do that for a little while and it will eventually be fine. I don't know if the Neuros I units will charge if the backpack's not connected, but the Neuros II units do.
Reply author: toygod(at)misaligned.net this doesnt seem to have fixed my problem. i tried to charge it for hours but to no avail. Can you buy just the small battery backpack with the belt clip somewhere?

quote: You'll have to look on eBay or somewhere else. The Neuros DAPs are discontinued so you won't be able to find spare backpacks on here, except for the full 80GB units that NT is trying to clear out. You can try www.americantechpushers.com , which is a reseller for Neuros and whose owner (I think he's the owner) Keith is on these forums.
Reply author: kaanji Hey All,
Reply author: Derek not necessarily the HD, it may have just been that particular unit. It seems to be a problem when the unit gets too low on power and tries to start, even when plugged in.
