I received the following message concerning an order with American Techpushers,

Date: Fri, 17 Jun 2005 15:57
From: Keith <questions@americantechpushers.com>
Subject: RE: Your American Techpushers order
I am sorry, but we ship directly from Neuros and they have just informed that the Neruos has been discontinued.
We learned of this literally minutes ago.
I am sorry we won't be able to fulfill your order.
I am truly sorry for the inconvience; your credit card will not be charged.

American Techpushers

This is affirmed from Neuros own website,
http://www.neurosaudio.com/store/error/baditem.asp
to purchase any Neuros; eg, the Neuros 80GB,

Sorry, this catalog item is not accessible.
It may have been replaced or moved.
Please search or navigate for it from the home page.

I wanted the Neuros to record in *.wav files at church.
Is there anything still manufactured that both plays mp3's
and records *.wav files?
Or, with childish optimism, maybe Neuros has a new product coming
--what do you suppose?

Ack! So yeah, there's nothing left in the store. Hopefully this is just restructuring as new products like the 442 come online. But the Bugzilla page is offline too.

I had a similar experience, except that I already did order. My order was magically canceled. I did not receive any e-mail or notifcation, but that is the status on the order staus page.

Now I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not. I have seen many complaints on the fourms. Being new to the Neuros, perhaps its for the best and I will order as soon as the next gen units come out.

Also, you may notice that if you hover on the "Neuros Products" link on top of this page, a pop-up dropbox will appear with "The Recorder" and "Accessories". Where did "The Neuros" go?

The plot thickens...

Can Neuros Audio be making that much from "The Recorder"? I doubt enough to pay one salary, let alone keep their company together. Will they make one last ditch effort to keep their head above water? Is this what was going to happen in order to clear the lane for the Neuros III or does this spell certain doom for Neuros altogether? Only time will tell. Let's just hope that things work out for these kind folks as it's a sad day when anyone's dreams get snuffed out.

They have actually had a unique learning experience here that most companies do not have or fail to see. Perhaps they've learned from all of the interaction they've had with their customers and have developed a business and design strategy behind the scenes and now have completed a near perfect product (generally speaking)as a result of focusing all their time and resources to this one product/vision on which they'd use as a solid foundation to move forward with their other ventures. It could happen, right? Yeah, you're right. They're done.

It's possible to beat a company like Apple. It just depends on who you pull into your meetings.

And for now . . . there's eBay . . .

Just go there and buy the now "Limited Edition" Neuros I or II

I really liked their explanation. It made so much sense. 'We don't want to sacrifice anything to keep up with demand.' It makes me soo anxious for the Neuros III!! Or maybe they'll change the name. IDK, will it go the way of the Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo. Linear progression, ass confusing progression, or inspiring? I could go for something inspiring.

that DMC looks a lot like the Pogo RipDrive that was also recently discontinued: http://www.pogoproducts.com/images/RD_angle.jpg. Yup...pretty sure it is, just repackaged?

what the hell is going on here? why wouldnt NA say something about this ahead of time?

but yeah...LowEnd...you can easily find one on ebay if you still want the neuros

oh..just read the post noiz made.

Anyone have any idea if theres gonna be a relatively cheap upgrade path to the NIII?

My Neuros I 20GB has been in repair since mid-April. I wonder how this will effect my RMA?

I can't upgrade to the NIII if I don't have my NI.

Thanks D-Sub. There's slim pick'ns on eBay right now. I'd have to wait to see what starts popping up there now. I'd hate to end up with a "fixed" unit that had been one of the many returns. I've also been checking out the DMC Xclef 500. I find mixed reviews -some people really dig it and some find it buggy (like the Neuros, I guess). I thought that DMC had discontinued this as well as Pogo, but now the DMC site shows that all sizes are back in stock. Funny, the day before all this Neuros news DMC was out of stock on all sizes. Now they appear again and at a lower price point than when I had previously looked into them. Now I'm seriously considering their 100gb model - around the same price as the Neuros 80gb. Any success stories with the DMC? As far as I know, it's a Korean product that's been licensed to DMC for US distribution. It's got some pretty decent reviews at CNET.

It's really disappointing that even the Neuros I, II accessories are not available. I just needed a new car power adapter for the Neuros as I had misplaced mine but it seems that is not available too. I had placed the order on the Neuros site (Order # 10204), but that was cancelled. Would appreciate if anyone has suggestions to get one.

Thanks.

you could probably buy a generic one from radio shack. They have milti tip/multi voltage ones so you should be able to get it to match up to what the neuros needs.

i saw this one http://www.archos.com/products/overview/gmini_400.html

when i called neuros they mentioned a discontiune, but still sent me a new face plate (and in only two days). fortunately everything's working better, except my skipping issue http://www.neurosaudio.com/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6299

i look forward to a nIII. i think they should offer a trade in deal for all nI and nII. wishful thinking, eh?
