If you have video that won't play on the 442 make sure it wasn't encoded with advanced MPEG4 features such as GMC or QPel enabled. Some custom MPEG-Custom quantization settings can also cause problems.

If you cannot tell what is wrong with your video, you can upload a sample of it somewhere online and I can take a look at it for you.

Check out Jeff's AutoGK guide on the WIKI. It rocks... I had been having issues and he set me straight on what I was setting wrong when encoding to XVID.
