I was on a road trip this weekend, and my GF was handling the music on the Neuros. We both came up with a some ideas for the Neuros that would be awesome.

1. Show the upcoming song somewhere on the main display. This could be configurable to show or not.

2. Show an indicator of some sort if the song that's playing is in the My Mix playlist. If you try to add a song to the My Mix playlist, it crashes the Neuros, so I'd like to be able to glance at the display and see if the song is already in there before trying to add it again. Maybe a small heart or something.

3. Add a menu item for the Now Playing Menu to control the backlight settings. If it's during the day, you should be able to quickly turn off the backlight to conserve battery. Instead of going through several menus, just one on the Now Playing Menu would be nice.

4. Allow you to "rate" songs via the 1-5 keys. If you like a song, give it a 4 or 5, and it'll play more often during shuffle mode.

Just some ideas...

#4 is one of my favorite options. If you have 2000+ songs in your shuffle mix, and you want to hear your favorites more often than not, then rating is one way to do so.

I also would like a repeat/no-repeat shuffle mode. Meaning you can set an option for the shuffle to repeat songs rather than gather a list of all songs and play them all once.

I want to be able to jump to the artist or album menu of the song that is playing when in shuffle mode. Even when not, if you shut down the player and start it up again, it forgets the menu branch it was in, so you gotta scroll through and find it again.

I'd also like a play queue that you can set to auto exit the queue and return to normal play once its finished playing what you chose.

Is there a way to scroll through the artist menu faster? It takes me a long time to get to the M artists, there's no way to scroll other than just using the down key?

Well hitting FF and REW will take you letter by letter. Installing a different firmware, like Garbage or Nerochiaro, will make scrolling through the menu by holding down or up much faster & more responsive.

here I is.

Great idea! That's exactly why I don't bother with the play queue. I'd use it if we were able to slip in a song, or a few, and it went back to random, or whatever mode, once those are played.
