Ok well the reason some of you guys are not getting sound on some the of the XVID movies might be due to AC3 audio. Please use http://www.divx-digest.com/software/gspot.html to check what the audio source is if its anything other than AC3 and your still getting video just no sound please let me know so i can run some test. Im working on a tutorial to solve this issue.

Now if you have no video please load the XVID into MPEG4modifier click on video info and check if it has a YES next to either

Qpel, GMC (any point over 1), and or custom matrix's

if so the only way to fix these is to re-encode, sorry, ill try and find a quicker way around this but as of right now, sorry.

Now if you see no video & have no sound but your video doesnt have any of the other things mentioned you can use FourCC http://www.inmatrix.com/files/avic_download.shtml
and change both options to DIVX this should trick the 442 into thinking that its a divx file and not a xvid, you may not have sound due to the AC3 but video works!!! im working on getting everything in order to fix some problems. Please email me or respond to the fourm if you dont fall into this and are still having problems. My email is yoricksdeath@gmail.com, i will also start a chan on EFNET through IRC called Neuros for live chat and help. Thanks for your time, MSN Messenger yoricksdeath@hotmail.com

UPDATE 1:
To fix the Sluggish video that sometimes occurs in XVID files you can unpack the bitstream using MPEG4Modifier this takes 5mins and should completely fix the video. Just a little update.

UPDATE 2:
The 442 seems to support DIV3 files im not sure why my pervious one didnt work, and ill look more into it but for the time being just make sure to test DIV3 files before re-coding SORRY again folks.

UPDATE 3:
To Fix the AC3 Audio or if you are having audio problems you can try this:
www.aintlovegrand.net/tut/audiofix.htm

UPDATE 4:
To fix Xvid files that are not working or divx files that are not working follow this guide let me know if you are running into any problems.
www.aintlovegrand.net/tut/videofix.htm

UPDATE 5:
Well good news is i found a freeware program like ulead that converts Divx/Xvid files with video problems on the 442 to working movie files. The app only outputs to Xvid files and will only fix Video problems not audio, please use the audio guide for that. You can queue up jobs just like the ulead app and let it run over night. Takes around 1:25mins for a 700MB Xvid file, This will work perfectly for people who dont care about messing with the option on Virtualdubmod, you will have less control but its easier. Good luck and here it is.

UPDATE 6:
Tutorial on how to convert DVD to xvid with 1 simple program.

Please note that there's a #neuros channel on freenode that you can use as well. There's usually a bunch of us online there.

New app added for people who dont feel safe messing with codec features, for all the less tech savvy people, or people who just dont care to mess with anything happy encoding.

Nice. I hope you can make it as easy to use as the current Xvid/divx tutorial. Many 442 owners have used it successfully.

Made a mistake about the 442 not supporting DIV3 it does. If you have any DIV3 files please check them so i can get a bigger data field of what works. Thanks and sorry for the mis-information before i just ran into one working.

Not all DIV3 files will work, only some, this is not a real divx format its a hacked codec from a while ago. If it works great, if not re-encode. Nothing neurous can do about it considering its not a real container. Sorry the file doesnt work.
