Newbie Connection Question Printed from: Neuros Forums Topic: Topic author: misfit5(at)ync.net
Subject: Newbie Connection Question I'm kinda confused as to how to hook this up--I have a digital cable box, tv, dvd/vcr--the cable comes in to the box, then goes to the dvd/vcr as a 'middle man' before connecting to the tv. The dvd/vcr is also plugged directly into the tv with av cables. Do I just hook the recorder to the tv and can record from whatever source I happen to be using (cable, dvd, etc) or do I have to hook it up specifically to the component I want to record from?

Reply author: Derek Just plug it into the outputs and inputs on your tv if you have them. it should say exactly the ways you can connect it in the manual. You will have to plug in both cables at the same time(one to input and one to output) to get the full functionality of the recorder.
Reply author: misfit5(at)ync.net Thanx much for your help! Part of the problem was that the manual was too vague in how to do the connections based on the setup. I'm usually pretty savvy as far as this type of thing but the manual had too many unanswered questions.
Reply author: Derek Yeah, i understand, the manual is being worked on (improvements here and there). Hopefully we can clear up any confusion.
Reply author: misfit5(at)ync.net I think that's my only suggestion for an improvement to the manual; maybe have a few illustrations/instructions for different set ups--kind of like vcr manuals have. While I'm thinking about it, it could also be helpful to have a few of the more 'popular' questions/answers from the board in the manual too. I noticed the online version of the manual has more info than the one included with the recorder---seems to be headed in the right direction for sure!
