Resolution of the Recorder 1 is 352 x 240. Because this specification has been omitted (for what ever reason) I bought the wrong recorder for using with a helmet-cam. From the Neuros website I got the impression that the only difference between the two recorders was one had a SD slot and the other had a Memory Stick slot. (Because the resolution for the Recorder 1 is not listed in its specifications, I wrongly assumed it was the same as the Recorder 2’s 640 x 480.) Only upon buying a Neuros 1 did I find out its top resolution is and odd 352 by 240. Then by reading the forums I found out that the Recorder 1 also has a slower processor than the Recorder 2 and its Mpeg4 file format is specific to PDA’s. Fortunately my wife wants to watch TV shows on here Palm PDA, so the purchase wasn’t a total waist. I also wanted to use the Recorder 1 to make quick video-podcasts, but this won’t work either due to the kind of Mpeg4 used. Other customers like me may incorrectly choose to buy the Recorder 1 over the Recorder 2 because they have cameras and PDA’s that use SD memory and memory sticks slots are useless. Warning: the specifications for the Neuros Mpeg4 Recorders 1 and 2 are spotty and unclear.

The specs are on our site here: http://neurostechnology.com/store/prod_recorder_specs.asp

Since it was not clear for you, I will have our webmaster add another link on the product page.

I agree with FJ on this one... I knew full well what the res would be before I bought the Recorder 1, and I bought it because I'm mainly interested in using it with my PDA.

The only problem is, there actually is no PDA that has a resolution of 352 by 240... in fact, most PDAs don't even use a matching aspect ratio, so you will not use your PDA's full screen even if you scale the file up or down.

Still, it's a worthy device, and I'm satisfied with it. I would've been interested in the Recorder 2 if it supported SD, even if we were left to "fend for ourselves" as far as getting MP4/AAC to work on TCPMP.
