Using in car

Subject: Using in car I have a recorder 1 coming to use with a camera that is mounted in my car. I only want it recording at certain times, so what is the best way to go about doing this? From what I understand there is an auto record mode. So can I just turn my power inverter on and it will record? When I turn it off and then turn it back on later, will it start recording again? Thanks.

Nevermind. My camera is messed up.
Can you tell me if there is a restocking fee for returning the recorder? I used it for 15 minutes just getting used to it only to find out my camera is ruined.
