I have been playing around with the recorder and have been working on designing a security video recorder with it. Should work great for the application. However, to save battery power, I completely power off the entire recorder between recordings. When motion is detected, I turn on the recorder and wait for the splash screen to go away, then send the record signals. The start up, "splash" screen adds about 3-4 seconds to the start up record time. For a security recorder, this is a lot. Is there anyway in future firmware revisions to increase this turn on to record time? I understand you have a lot of initializing to do, but just thought that if the startup time can be improved, it would really be a hit with the security market!
