I just received my recorder 2, two weeks ago, now there is a newer model,is there any other advantages (features)
besides the sd card capability?

Aside for the multicard slot that accepts SD (miniSD, microSD) and MMC cards directly, there is no difference between the units. You can actually purchase a SD/MMC card adaptor for the Recorder 2 here:

for the recorder 2 to record on SD cards.
