As best band ever I would think of the one and only:

W.A.S.P.

If you dare to consider it Hard Rock and not Metal, I will vote for:

JUDAS PRIEST!!!!

hmmmm, the BEST metal band? There are so many genres and possibilities...

if I were to go with something less mainstream and more metal, I'd have to say Meshuggah. Ministry is close, though.

i was going to go to ozzfest, but it seems that after last year, they dont plan on coming back to buffalo for a long time...hehehe...........so, the closest stop on the tour this year for me, will be pittsburg, a full 5 hours away, and i have no ride.

Judas Priest rocks and they have reunited with Halford and will be going on the Ozzfest this year with ... Black Sabbath. Yeah, Black Sabbath has reunited for the Ozzfest. I'll be going this year just for that.

The Ripper left Judas Priest after Halford re-joined and is now the singer of Iced Earth because their singer left (grr, Matt Barlow was so much better). I saw Iced Earth May 2 and will be seeing them again tommorow...if you like thrashy power metal they rock. A lot of people think they suck because their songs are mostly based around the rhythm guitar (i.e. chords) instead of lead (i.e. scales). I don't mind the lack of melody at all...
