i was just thinking of how impractical the current battery indicator is. how many bars you have fluctuates depending on what you are doing at the time, and the only time i have found it useful is when it is completely out. i would much rather have a percentage meter, even if it is only in the settings menue. the percent would consistant the same no matter what you do. just a thought.

I think within warranty it's free (am I right?) but otherwise it's not more than $12 or so, so it's not a big deal. I suppose getting a good battery that can hold up to ~426 or so as mine does, would be quite nice.

yeah, not playing or anything, it charges to 408 if I'm lucky. I could leave it plugged in for hours not doing a thing, HD never spinning up, and it won't go above 408. When my unit was brand new (I bought it in August or September of 2003), the max I usually got was 411. How much does it cost to send in and get the battery replaced?

I get up to 427.

I think that 410 is a common number. It probably has something to do with the type of unit you have and when you got it.

Sounds more like replacement instead of recalibration.

I've never got over 408- is this a problem with the battery?

Recalibrated? How do you do that?

Yeah, it would be nice to have an option between bars, voltage, or percentage. It would also be nice to have a better way to measure the battery. Having two out of three bars makes you think that you have lots of life left, but then oops, the hard drive spins up and it dies. I thought I had two bars?

Anyways, you really get 420, Yono? Even when my Neuros (original) was new, the most I ever got was 410. Now I'm lucky to get 407 and it drops to 400 within its first hour of play.

I get 426 usually

UP+Lock

On the HD a full battery is around 420.
