Posted - 07/25/2005 : 09:30:25 AM I've been recording using a microphone for the pst year using the line-in without using a mic preamp. I generally have to amplify my recording by about 10 dB when I transfer it to my computer, and that's worked great for me, but i was wondering am I sacrificing some audio quality, dynamic range and/or depth by forgoing the preamp? I'm looking at acquirng a preamp but am wondering will there be any gain in quality.

Posted - 12/02/2005 : 6:51:45 PM I use a pre amp with Phantom Power. A Edirol UA-5. The sound quality will go up 100 fold with a good preamp. |
