Hello everyone,
I'm not tech savey but I'm thinking about buying this for my husband for a X-mass gift he owns a PSP ( my son as well ) and I was thinking that this would be great gift for them to have since, my husband and son are both big anime fan boys and watch all those Saturday night shows on the cartoon network ( my husband also watches the sci-fi channel as well ), and my family likes to take long road trips and I think of instead of buying a portable DVD player they could watch the TV shows they like on there PSP, I also heard that this can be used with recordings from DVD's or VHS tapes.
The other thing I want to know is this product easy to hook up to our cable line, is everything I need shipped with the product, or are there other things I have to buy as well to get them up and recording as soon as they open up there gift.
And is there anyone with this recorder that can give me some advice on it, such as are they happy with it and are they having any problems with it, I'm not sure if I'm reading other peoples questions right but it seem that there is a problem with the sound they get with what ever they record, is that from tv shows or from DVD's or VHS recordings. Thank you to anyone that can help me out, I would like to order this for them by next week.

Hi There

Let me tackle your questions.

To start out with everything that you need is included in the box except a compact flash card or a memory stick card to record on to. Since you are looking to put the content on the PSP, I would obviously suggest and a memory stick card.

There is no sound problem with the Recorder 2. The sound difficulties are from the recorder 1. When the recorder 1 was first released it had some initial problems with sound volume being low, but this was later fixed via firmware update.

The unit is designed to easily record from DVD players, VHS players, TV’s, camcorder’s or any device that has RCA Jacks.

What you want the device to do is exactly what is meant to be done with it.

If you have any questions feel free to drop me line.

Thank you American Techpusher, I'm very happy with the fast reply you gave me from this message board. I would hate to think that I was buying my husband and son a gift and it turns into a pain in the rear as soon as they used it, a few years ago I bought my husband that portable game system that also doubles as a phone ( I can't remember the name of it but it was shaped like a taco ) I know he only used it a few times but a few months later my son told me that my husband traded it for some X-box or PS2 games his reason why was that there wasn't any games on it he liked and he was happy with the cell phone he had ( his company gave him one to use ). This time around I want to get something that I know that will get constant use from both of them. Once more thank you American Techpusher and may you and yours have a happy and safe hoilday.
