I am really looking forward to purchasing the recorder 2 but before I do I have several questions that need to be addressed before I make the purchase. My primary use of the recorder would be for Sony’s PSP. If I was to record from my DVD player how would the movie look on the PSP (wide screen, letterbox or black bars on the sides)? In other words will it use up all the PSP’s beautiful screen like the original movie? Will a recorded movie look like a purchased UMD (not the resolution...I know) on the PSP? How about from my cable box or VCR (wide screen, letterbox or black bars on the sides)? Thanks

It will depend on the format you pick and teh format of the source. For a full screen movie, the WQVGA resolution will fill up the PSP screen. For QVGA, you will be able to use the zoom feature of the PSP as the image will be cropped on both side (width of the QVGA image is 3.5"). The quality of the playback is very nice (you can see what reviewers have to say about it on our wiki), although the resolution will be a little lower than for a UMD movie. it is due to the PSP hardware.
I hope that helps
