I have been using the recorder 2 with a 3 GB microdrive for about 3 weeks and it works just fine.

Hitachi Microdrives up to 6GB have been tested and they all worked fine.

Is there a way to connect a regular desktop (3.5" or 2.5") drive to the Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2, with something like a CompactFlash to IDE adapter?

At the present moment you will not be able to connect the Recorder 2 to a 2.5 or 3.5 inch HD, but we are working on a solution. We will post any new information regarding this topic on our website.

Does the Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder 2 supports 20GB or 40GB drives? I plan on buying this adapter and use the Neuros with a hard drive instead of a CompactFlash card.

Hard to tell without testing. I know the Datel 4GB HD works well with the Recorder, but it is hard to say for certain that this set up will work out too. If anybody has tried it, please send us some feeback.
Thanks

The max 80GB storage support have been defind inside the firmware from
1.3.51 to 1.3.90.

Now,R2 just need a IDE interface, that meaning we need some hardware design change on R2.
