I just tried to do the update to firmware version 1.2.4 but had the following problem. The update file I downloaded was named 442FW_TimerRecord, and not named load.bin as per the update instructions. There was no file to extract. I copied the new file to the 442, but there was no update to the firmware. What have I done wrong? Thanks.

You need to first extract the Load.bin file from the compressed .RAR file Neuros has available for download on the site.
once extracted you need to copy the LOAD.BIN file to the root directory of the 442 harddrive.
Then select update firmware and it will update your firmware.
Make sure you have the 442 connected to AC power befor you update the firmware.
A battery power failure during the firmware update process could cause your 442 to stop working.

You can download the WinRar program for extracting .rar files here:
http://www.win-rar.com/

Neuros needs to update the firmware instruction on this website.
It mentions extracting or unzipping the file but doesn't explain to users what a .Rar file is or how to extract it.
