Does anyone know if the old (gray) controllers will work with the new USB 2.0 backpacks? How about the other way around - will the new (black) controllers work with older USB 1.0 backpacks?
Finally, which version of the firmware (1.45 or 2.28?) goes with which unit? I'm not sure if the controller determines the firmware version or the backpack determines the firmware version?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry...this is probably a dumb question, but I don't know the answer and haven't been able to find anything in the forums.

The USB2.0 backpacks were originally sold as separate items for the gray units before the NIIs were released, so they should work together fine.
I think black control units will work with the USB 1.1 backpacks since the 1.1 port is on the control unit.
Also, all units use the same firmware. The only differnce is that the black ones cannot use version 1.xx firmware. All of the units can use the 2.28 firmware.
