My Neuros II has begun to switch to a different song during playback of the selected song. It doesn't start at the beginning of next song from the artist/album, it seems to select a song at random and start playback somewhere in the song thus splicing two totally unrelated songs together. I have no clue why it would do this. The original song is still on the display even though it's playing something different. Help!
Very anoying. It's not locked up in any way. I can go to the next song on the album with no problems. I'm using NDBM and have updated the firmware to 2.28? or whatever the newest version.

Thanks,
David

Have you added a lot of music to your N2 recently? I find that I have to basically, clean it our and reupload my music to keep it playing smoothly. It's kind of like "defragging" the HD.
You might want to try that. It's worked for me.

That's a good possibility. It's most noticable on the latest cd I added. But, it's also mostly something that's happening more frequently that ever before. I have seen it happen before this latest addition but rarely. Should I reformat or just select all, delete, and add everything again? I've never done that before except when the data base has gotten corrupted and had to be rebuilt. Never had to delete all or reformat.

I'll check it out and give you steps when I get home tonight.

I haven't had to do it for a while now, but I haven't ripped any new music.

Go ahead and format the NAND disk:

With the power cord and USB unattached and the unit powered down, press and hold down the 1 and 5 preset buttons and the Play buttons at the same time. You should boot into Safe Mode.
Using the large button select Format NAND and right-click. Select Yes and right click to erase all the data on the disk. Formatting the NAND (the flash chip on the player) may take longer depending on which firmware version you currently have, and the back light may also blink. When finished, select Exit and return to the main menu.
Sincerely,
Neuros Support
