I have used mine in my car, a racecar and a gokart. I am working on a professional install for racing motorcycles. The best way and cheapest is to use the cigarette lighter if you want to remove the NR2. A cheap 5 volt regulator circuit is available from the guys at www.dimensionengineering.com The center pin to the 5volt adaptor is + Email me and I can send you a schematic with parts list if you need.
I am sure others will provide you with some cool ideas too.
