OSD to record from VGA

Hi!  I am trying to bring back the OSD (3.33-1.77) from retirement.  I had no video feeds for it after cancelling my cable box. Now I am trying to record my computer screen which has the VGA tapped with a Sabrent TV-PC85. And the PC85 is emitting S-Video for the OSD.

But I can't see the OSD menu in this test configuration. So, is it possible to control the OSD via the serial port? If so, I could probably write an easy and convenient script with a specific menu for my needs.

There are some forum posts on controlling the OSD via telnet, but the control is limited.
