Can someone please help me, I bought the neuros recrder 2 days ago. Was working fine recorded a few films off sky was well impressed.Last night i tried to use it but could'nt get the remote to work, figured it needs a new battery. Tried 2 new batteries but still can't get remote to switch to menu screen or record anything. Bought this product in England considering sending back to retailer as only 2 says old. Could there be a batch of faulty remotes. A few people seem to have this problem.

The only problem I have is that I have to hit the record button twice in order for it to stop recording

If you have not changed anything for the set up, is the green light on on the front of the panel? Also make a quick test by using the Power button on the remote and then the recording button. If you see a red light on, the remote is working. If that does not work out, just ask for a new remote. There is also a thread where somebody explained how to check if the remote is working: "To check the remote, view the remotes LED through the use a cell phone camera, webcam or digital camera view finder.
Point the remote at the devices view finder. You should see the LED flashing when pressing one of the buttons on the remote.
If you don't, then the remote is faulty.

The remote is required to work the recorder. The green light on the recorder simply indicates power to it." ex-Navy

Thanks ex-navy, Got it sorted I emailed retailer explaining problem-there shipping me a replacement today. Tried the camera thingy the remotes definately defective! Thought the unit was superb and video quality was ace! My I say it could have been damaged in transit. But if it is a recall thing Neuros need to sort it asap,as it spoils an otherwise great product.[Smiley][:p]

I'm having remote issues too with the neuros OSD purchased within last week.  It worked long enough to do 1-GB of TV recording and now I can't get the remote to show the menu or record -- batteries are good -- I think the product was sold to the public to soon -- Neuros should have the bugs worked out by now and before its sold to customers wanting something that works out of the package without days and days of troubleshooting.  Trying to get the remote to syinc with the TV, DVD or VHS reciever, or whatever is very difficult.  I can get the basic buttons to work -- just not the important ones that allow the OSD to work with the TV or whatever.  Any help offered is appreciated!                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Plus, the IR blaster that is suppose to emulate the IR signal used by your remote to set the tuner of your video source to the channel of your choice at the time of the recording, doesn't have any directions on how to set it up -- no pictures or verbiage providing guidance.
