well you've lost a customer with me. if you could have come out with the neuros 3 on any kind of reasonable timeline I would have bought one, but with the abandonment of the neuros II development and the forsaking of the neuros 3 development for OSD it has become apparent that the neuros 3 is vaporware. I realize that you need to make money, but please be honest with your customers and tell us when you have abandoned a project. How long has it been since the neuros II came out? it's been about two years since you had your "we're not making anymore of them" close out special with no successor in sight. every few months I come back here hoping the the n3 is out and every time there is less about the neuros audio devices on your site. be honest with us and admit you're a "low end tivo to external devices" company now. at this point i fully expect the neuros 3 to come with duke nukem' forever installed on it.

I'm agree with this.
I don't think that Neuros' developpement in video or MP4 is a good idea.
With Iphone, Internet HDTV, Miniaturized laptops like Macbook, or GPS miniPC, you're quite late.
As a Sound Professionnal, I really enjoyed the NI and NII. Really good sound. Bargraphs. You were in advance.
The philosophy was different than the Ipod. All Good. No limitations.
With a little develeppement in international shipping, or partners in europe and asia, you could have done a great deal with think kind of semi professional gear.
Th N3 would come in the rigt time.
It was not your choice.

I think it's a big mistake.

I'm now searching for other recording products.
Will tell you when I find one.

Yours kindly,

Benoit

Well we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.  But those who say that "were late", i am sorry but i dont agree to that.  What we done with the OSD is, and to quote many of our customers "amazing device".

With the iPhone, how are we late.  The OSD is meant to work with the iPhone, and Nano, and any portable media player.  What does a Macbook, GPS miniPC  have to do with the OSD.  I do not really understand the relevance of your post.  I know you are upset, and i am upset to, because i still use my Neuros II till this day.

Right now all of our time is on the OSD, perfecting it.  Once again we apologize for the inconvenience.

It's not so much of an inconvenience you've caused us, it's the damage you've done to your companies reputation in the portable audio market. we were willing to put up with a huge, heavy, ugly device because of some of the features offered and the openness of the platform, but we're not willing to stay customers when your focus has changed to the OSD. Why don't you just admit that the N3 will never come out and be done with it? At this point even if the N3 did come out I would never buy it because of my experience with your company.

Way to focus on the "we're Late" statement about the OSD and ignore the fact that the N3 is indeed late and would need to be completely recreated to be anywhere close to modern. and repeatedly saying that your upset at the abandonment of the N3 rings a little hollow after 3 years, if you were really upset you might focus a little on it.

It's ok that Neuros is a one horse company (OSD), but admit it so people can go buy better faster cheaper digital audio products somewhere else.

It's interesting that you use the word "perfecting" in your last sentence since nothing is ever perfect. It lets me know that the OSD will never be done and the N3 will never come out.

You will notice that he also used the phrase, "trying to perfect it", in January. Even a year after that we are hearing the same thing. How many times has the date been pushed back on the N3? How much time has the date been pushed back? I'm not upset because I have a good replacement to my N2; I use the Cowon iAudio X5L. 30 hour battery life, Rockbox support which means it plays pretty much every format, and it has an FM tuner (no transmitter, but you can buy those separate anyway).

I am disappointed in Neuros' dishonesty, though. The message started out being, "we're actively looking into making it and it's about a year away", then it was, "ok, we're working on the PVP so just wait a little longer", and now it's, "there are no plans at all and no speculated release date". It's really a kick in the pants to your Neuros Audio Computer customers who have been waiting patiently.

It's funny that Duke Nukem' Forever was mentioned because I saw it mentioned just yesterday when I was looking at the "development hell" wikipedia page.

The N3 is an audio playing device right?  Well so is the OSD?  It just happens to view pictures, play video, and record video.  I play my audio files off my network all the time.

Nice post ifihadarubbertree.  On the other hand, i am locking this thread, until further notice.  This thread is going no where, and its only causing problems.
