A few months ago the hard disk in my N1 died.  I finally got around to replacing it but I am unable to get the Neuros to recognize the new drive.  Any hints on how I can get it working again?  Firmware on the device is the latest version of Garbage, as far as I know.

Thanks!

A few things to clarify, if you please:

A) What drive was in there originally, and what did you replace it with?
B) What steps did you take once the drive was re-assembled?
C) How is it "not detecting"?  Is the Neuros itself giving an error message when you turn it on, does it not detect when you plug it into the computer, etc.

Sorry for not giving enough details the first time around.  It originally had a 20g Hitachi Travelstar.  I replaced it with a 60 GB Toshiba, 4200 RPM drive.

I
Format hard drive -> format media -> format file system

then

Format NAND disk -> revive bad blocks -> format NAND disk
without a change in behavior.  At that point, I put the drive in an enclosure and formatted it as FAT32 and ran checkdisk on it while in the enclosure and the drive appears to be working properly, no errors or anything.

I've updated to the latest Garbage firmware but can go to the latest Neuros released firmware if necessary.  However, powering the unit on results in a flashing light and kicks me to the format screen whether its standalone or I try to hook it up to my computer.

Thanks,
Greg
