Hello,
I have a Neuros 1 and I use the 128 mb backpack, mostly for playing a few tunes while I'm in bed, all night. I leave it connected to the charger all the time, letting it play all night and letting it charge all day.  I've done that for about a year now, and now the unit is completely dead. I do still have the 20g hard drive. Could it be the battery?  What should I do? Should I send it back to you? If so, how do I do that?
Thanks

It could be the battery or one of any number of things...

Does the brain work while attached to the 20g HD?

Okay, the Neuros brain lights up when I connect the 20g back, but then I opened Neuros Sync Manager, and it said it was time for a firmware update.  I connected to the internet, but it would'nt connect, then it directed me to go online using a connect button, saying it was directing me to a Neuros Sync Manager firmware update page, but it just sent me to the Neuros OSD page, which unless I'm missing something is a dead end.  I had done a rebuild on the 20g drive earlier, so there's nothing on the drive. Do you still have firmware updates for this unit, and if so, how could I access them?  Also, what should I do next regarding finding out what my 128mb back needs to have done?
Thanks

P.S.
Also, using NSM froze  Windows Media Player so it wouldn't function, had to reboot the computer, it will function now.
The computer works fine.

I would switch to using ndbm, as it is a bit more self-contained:  http://neurosdbm.sourceforge.net/

The latest official firmware is here: http://www.neurostechnology.com/taxonomy/term/8

And if the 20G backpack works fine, you may want to call Neuros directly to see if they still have parts to repair the backpack.  As far as I know, it is just a battery and a converter board (the memory is in the brain, used as cache for the HDD backpack), so there may be repairs you can make yourself... I've not had a battery-only backpack open yet.
