So I finally decide getting off of one of the risky early versions of Arizona is a good idea, and try updating through the network.  It downloads, starts to update, then complains after the reboot of not being able to connect to the network.

Since my only USB key is one of the Sandisk Cruzer thumbprint models that only works on Windows for some reason, I look around for another USB device I can use to do a "local" upgrade.  My MyBook has been reformatted HFS+ for TimeMachine, so the only thing left?  My Neuros II DAC.

So far it's working fine as a USB drive for holding the firmware patch.  I am going to backup some data on the drive and make sure that the OSD likes playing/recording off of the NII.  I doubt there will be any issues, but I haven't heard of anyone putting these two Neuros products together yet.  (Does the 442 support MPEG4 playback?  Perhaps adding a "442" preset on the OSD would be a good idea?)

I actually used my Neuros II as an external hard drive, files record and playback perfectly.  You will just need the power adapter connected at all times, if not it will die.
