The subject line isn't totally true.  If I attempt to record about 20 times, it may actually do so, once or twice if I'm lucky.  But typically, I hit record, the red record light comes on but then goes out after about five seconds.   When it fails to record, the SD card will still show the usual files but the MPEG4 file will be either 1 or 0 KB.   I've tried several SD cards and various recording resolutions but nothing changes.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What type of memory cards are you using, and what are they formatted to?

I use the 1GB and 2GB SD cards, formatted on my Palm Treo.  Although the recorder shows an option to format the disk, I can never get it to do anything.  But I doubt whether it's a formatting problem.  I've been using the recorder with the same cards for a long time and I never had a problem until recently.   Thanks.

I'm having a problem with the buttons becoming overly sensitive, and have had similar recording problems to yours. I found that when I pressed the record button once, it registers it as multiple presses, so it's turning the record on then off really quickly, that's why you're getting files with zero k.

Try pressing the button really lightly. I'm not sure if it's because the buttons are wearing out or if the battery is getting low.

1_blue_pixel:   I changed the battery and that did the trick!  Thanks for the suggestions.

I recently changed the battery on my remote, and it also did the trick! Fixed my issues so far.
