Title: Settings for new iPod Post by: rferrara(at)frontiernet.net on September 15, 2006, 08:48:03 AM Just purchased anMPEG4 recorder for a 5th generation iPod (pre-new announcement) and have been recording at 320X240. With recent announcement of iTunes support of 640X480 should I now be recording at this setting and have iTunes scale it down for the iPod? I have also upgraded my iPod to the new firmware just announced. Is this correct?

Although all iPod video models have a 320x240 screen, Apple's recent updates enable them to play back files of resolutions up to 640x480, scaling them down in real time. Bottom line: if you are going to play back the files on a TV from your iPod, use 640x480. If you aren't, then you may as well use 320x240 to save space. |
