Title: Relatively new Neuros II refusing to shut down.. Post by: haxality(at)gmail.com on September 23, 2006, 09:30:18 AM Hi all, I have been greatly enjoying my Neuros II up until a few days ago, when it stopped shutting down when I held the play/pause button. It shows the screen saying "Shutting down..." and the hard drive spins up but then it just hangs. It will do this until the battery dies or until I remove the backpack from the player.

Post by: Oosty on September 25, 2006, 01:49:31 AM Hi all, I have been greatly enjoying my Neuros II up until a few days ago, when it stopped shutting down when I held the play/pause button. It shows the screen saying "Shutting down..." and the hard drive spins up but then it just hangs. It will do this until the battery dies or until I remove the backpack from the player. To force it to turn off, hold the play/power button and press up on the joy stick. You are then going to have to reformat the memory in the "brain". Put the unit in diagnostic mode by holding down the 1 and 5 buttons and then pressing play. The diagnostic mode should come up. If it doesn't, disconect the brain from the backpack, reinsert the brain and try again. In diagnostics, choose to select NAND Disk and then format NAND Disk. Don't worry about the warning message, the data on your hard drive won't be touched. Choose yes and when it is done, you should be back to normal. Post by: cs12700(at)juno.com on October 29, 2006, 04:41:11 PM I have the same problem as haxality(at)gmail.com but I can't seem to put my Neuros into diagnostic mode. I've tried holding down 1 and 5 and then pressing Play but that just makes songs play. I've also tried removing the brain and reconnecting it but the same thing keeps happening.
