Title: Startup to Record Time? Anyone know? Post by: claydubois(at)cableone.net on October 24, 2006, 01:02:57 PM I have both the R1 and R2 and like them both. I use them to record from remote battery powered security cameras using a IR blaster I created to remote control the recorder to start it recording. However, my biggest complaint on using the Recorder 2 is that the startup time from powerup to the actual start of the recording is way to long. It takes about 6 seconds to power it on, wait for the startup screen to go away, then start it recording. Not good when using it as a security recorder. (I am using this sytem to monitor my hunting camp while I am away, and my camp has not AC power, so I have to rely on battery power).
So my question is, what is the recording startup time from complete power down (no power at all to the OSD) to the actual recording startup? Is there a way to speed up the recording?
