Title: No buttons working at all on Neuros Post by: SambrookJM on November 13, 2006, 04:00:00 PM I posted this in a different thread, but it may have become lost in the shuffle. I'll start a new topic, and see if this gets any replies. Help would be greatly appreciated, since I would hate for my Neuros to become a paperweight!
I was going to add a couple of more CDs to my Neuros 80GB model, but when I connected it to my PC, the PC did not recognize it at all. I needed to fill out the User Name and Backpack name when I ran the Synchronization Manager. The Synch manager did not detect any of the songs that were already on the Neuros, despite the fact that I had been using it about 5 minutes prior to hooking it up to my PC. I tried going ahead and re-adding all of the songs to the Neuros, but that didn't work. My system locked up, and I had to do a hard power down. I was able to get the power on by unplugging the Neuros, doing the "hard shut down" (up on the joystick and hitting the play button) and then plugging it back in. If I do that while holding down 1 and 5, I get the diagnosis menu just fine: "NAND Disk. Hard Drive. Exit" shows up. The problem now is that the large middle button (the "joystick" if you will) doesn't work at all. If I try to turn it off normally using the power button, nothing happens there either. The only way I can shut it down is the Up-Play combination. Since the Up-Play works, it seems obvious the problem is with the memory, and not a physically broken joystick. The directional arrows don't work, so I don't know how to clear the flash memory. Is there an "auto flash" command that I can use on boot-up? The Neuros is locked into place (I took it out and put it back in, just in case it had become dislodged somehow.) but I'm at a loss as to what to do next. The only command that seems to work is the hard stop. Any ideas? |
