hi everyone,
its been long since i checked neurosaudio.com for news and i was really surprised and happy to see the new products.
the only neurosdevice i have is the first player with 40gig hardrive.
anyway, here come the questions:
1. are the products available in germany (or at least somewhere else in europe)? i had to order my audioplayer from the us, which not only cost a lot of shipping, but also around 70$ import taxes (which i found out about and had to pay after receiving the package).... i wont do that again.
2. i read through some posts and someone said nfs would probably not be supported (officially) because its too geek. why does neuros spend so much time on "regular customers", when most are geeks; i mean - no offence intended - but the products really arent mainstream, the brand is not very well known, the design looks more like startrek and less like ipod, if you know what i mean.
i really think most of your customers are people who care about support for free fileformats and free operating systems, who chose a device because they know that its firmware is open and maybe even BECAUSE it looks a little more like startrek

so maybe you should focus on providing more featues attractive to them.... (i think there is a big market of geeks out there)
but maybe i am mistaken and neuros has a much smaller percentage of geek users in the us....
3. where are the "facts" about the device, i.e. which fileformats and codecs are actually supported (what about theora,xvid,x264, matroska...)? how long does it take to boot? what software is used on the device(mplayer?)? if i ever will be able to login via ssh, will i be able to add extra software, code my own, change that which is on it?
4. will it be possible to connect a usb-dvd-drive to the usb-port and play dvds from it (or files from dvds/cds...)? it shouldnt be a problem for linux or any of the standard videoplaying software used on linux....
thats it for now!
thanks for making great products and for showing the world, that there are alternatives to the big monopolies in the entertainment industry.
greetings
hannes
