Alright Joe, and all of Neuros Audio - What happened? Honestly, just what happened here? We haven't had a substantial release in almost a year. A YEAR. For a product that is only just now discontinued, to which there is still a loyal fanbase. If GarBage would/could keep up his great work, we wouldn't have a problem. But a member of the community shouldn't have been relied upon in the first place. Is anything coming? Did anything ever come of this "Firmware team"?

I bought my Neuros about 2 years ago and for the first year I absolutely loved it and had 100% brand loyalty. I would have bought the N3 the moment it came out. I'm not quite as sure anymore. I know I'll definently shop around to see what other players offer.

The reason I was so thrilled my first year was almost completely because of firmware updates. It was like every 3 or 4 weeks I was getting a whole new toy. Each update made the Neuros more and more exciting; I eagerly awaited the next release to see what new options would be available. I would update the firmware the minute it came out -- usually with the beta release.

In the past year since the firmware updates quit the Neuros has lost much of its excitement. Sure, I still use it daily, and sure, I'm quite happy with it, but it doesn't have the thrill of being new.

I still like NA because of their dedication to open-source and because, frankly, they make an extremely good mp3 player. But I'm not as diehard as I once was and I'm not sure if I'll buy an N3 or not.
