Now, I do have a slightly older Neuros, so it's possible this is already a feature in newer ones, but here's what I would LOVE to see:

The ability to bookmark longer audio files (like podcasts or ebooks) so that I can listen to something else and then go back to where I was in the long file.

I listen to a lot of podcasts in the car, but when I'm at work I listen to classical music. It's annoying to have to mentally note where I was in the podcast and then fast-forward to get back there.

I gave some thought to how this feature might work. This is my idea of how it could look from the user end (I'm no developer, so I don't know how the code would work):

While listening to the podcast, I pause it, then right-click to bring up the menu that includes stuff like My-Fi Gain and Shuffle settings.
I select an option called "Bookmark" or something similar. This causes the podcast to stop playing and lets me navigate to the stuff I want to listen to now.
When I want to go back to the podcast, I navigate to a menu called "Bookmarks" or something like that (it would be in the menu which includes playlists, genre, etc). This brings up a list of bookmarks.
I select the bookmark for the podcast I was listening to before.
The podcast starts playing from where I bookmarked it earlier, and that bookmark is deleted.

It's sort of like what happens when I turn the Neuros off while listening to something, except that it would store that info while I listen to something else instead of while the Neuros is turned off. Does that make sense?

If this is something that's already an option with newer Neuros players, let me know and I will wishlist that bad boy asap. But if it's not... please give it some thought. This would be a boon to folks like me who listen to a lot of longer files, and would cause me to do the dance of superiority around my non-Neuros-owning friends even more than I already do.

Cheers!

This reminded me; the last time I checked my installed programs, I noticed I have 2 NSM's. Since I'm at work and not at home, I can't say what I've got installed. Should I unistall both of them and download the latest one on the site?
Thanks,
Ron

I would uninstall both and install the latest version of Sorune. The latest development version seems solid and in my mind is much more intuitive that NSM. It can be found at http://development.sorune.com/

When you're ready to bookmark, simply hold down one of the 5 orange buttons on the left side and it will bookmark the mp3. If you hold it down in the first 15 seconds (I think) it bookmarks the beginning of the mp3. Otherwise it bookmarks at your current location.

I use this all the time while listening to audio books.

Of course, this takes up one of your radio pre-sets, but if you're like me you never listen to the radio on the Neuros anyway.

Holy Moly, that's awesome! I had no idea that had been implemented.

Yeah, I never listen to the radio on my Neuros, so that won't be a problem.

Thanks so much for the info!
