I've been looking for a reliable (and cheap) SD to CF converter that will let me use the sd cards from all my devices (camera, treo, etc..) in the Recorder2. Anybody come across anything like that? I've seen some from the results of google searches and they seem to be ok, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried them out.

I haven't gotten it yet, but I just ordered this one through Amazon:

Archos, Inc. 500587 4-IN-1 Compact Flash Adapter

Looks pretty good. $35.

I use the Eagletec adaptor. It works great.
I bought 2 after reading this review:

The adapter has worked perfectly with the brands of SD cards I own. My main card is a 1GB PNY card and I have recorded several shows without any audio or video issues. Transfer seems to be perfectly smooth. In addition I have a 512MB Sandisk Card that I have also used with success. I haven't tested on my lower sized cards since the capacity would be prohibitive but I can give it a whirl if you'd like.

Additionally, I have a multi-format flash card adapter that I have been using with the adapter to transfer the mpegs directly from the large sd (in the adapter) to the smaller sds that then go into my Treo. All in all - a great system!

Hi left47,

Thanks for the information :D, but I have to ask; how reliable is the card adapter? Is the transfer always smooth and do you hear any audio dropouts? In addition, what brand and type of SD card are you currently using? Do you know if the card adapter is specific to that type or brand of SD card or should it work with any brand of SD card?

Please contact me at dkumnerdpet@neurosaudio.com if you have any further information regarding this SD to CF adapter. I would like to get a hold of the SD to CF adapter and test it out myself.

Thanks again!

Just an update:

I got a generic SD to CF adapter from ebay and it's working wonderfully. Unfortunately, there's no brand that I can point to to let you know what kind it is. Here's a link to the auction in case anyone is interested:
