My girlfriend and I share the Neuros, but our taste in music is radically different!!
How about an option to allow different songs/albums/playlists to be shown depending on who is "logged on"??
Maybe when the Neuros is powered on, the "topmost" screen could give a list of users, then when one is selected, the screens under that would only show the songs/albums/palylists that that user wants.
This would be similar to the Windows log on screen, and it's ability to show different desktops depending on who is logged on.
I love this product, and most of the other add ons I read on these pages would be really nice, but I'm not sure I would use a lot of them. This idea, hit me the first day I turned this product on, and has occured to me every time since. (Usually, when one of her songs comes on in random play!! :-) )
Thanks.

Wade,
My suggestion would be to create 2 massive playlists for each of you. Call them Wades Faves and Wades Girlfriend's Faves (for lack of a better name, since I don't know her name). Then, instead of going to Artists or Albums, etc., you could just go to playlists and choose your favorites, and she could do the same.
Then, if you get the hankerin' for some of her music, or she's with you while you are listening to music and she wants to hear some of hers, then you've still got access to it.
It's kind of the same workaround as the whole "sort by Artist then Album" problem, and it works well. I've got several playlists set up for my different moods, as well as one big favorite list that I just randomize when I want to listen to a variety.
I suppose the other solution is to buy her a Neuros for herself...heh.
Hope that helps! -M- |

This would be yet another great advantage if one could navigate the Neuros via the directory/file structure already in existance. You could simply create a folder for each user and keep the music under that, though of course if you like ot use tags, folder/file navigation would not be good after that point.

Actually, now that I think about it, this would be pretty cool... have music "groups", perhaps based on contents of playlist, an ID3 tag, or even just directory structure! You could just enable and disable groups of music through the settings menu or something. Granted, you could probably do this through playlists, but then it's harder to find a specific artist... ande this may not be possible, and judging by all the open enhance requests in Bugzilla, probably never will, but it'd be cool. |
