I will see what I can do for you, maybe I will have some time during the next days. It would be helpful if you could give a link to such an 3D-Icon, so I can see what you meant!

Keep it up, and good luck by learning Photoshop ... Actually, I can do this 3D-Icons and then I will sent you the results and the source and you have to try to make the source look like my results (: ...
Just a thought!

here's an example, someone took the boring musicmatch logo and "3d-ified" it

I uploaded the same logos like before but a little bit 3d-ified ...
Maybe when I've another minute I will try to enhance them, but for the moment and the five minute I got, they hopefully will do!

Wow, nice icons!

I tried to do the smooth edges, but didn't have much success.

I like your 3d-ish icons, too, except that the ligh source seems to be directly above rather than angled...

Yeah, I know what you mean, but actually the position of the light source didn't change the appearance, or changed it very badly because it's just a too low resolution. It was a small job though, so I propably could do better if I spend more time. If a few people insist, I will do, but until then it should be O.K. for now ...

Have a vote, guys ...

I'm going to try a rendered icon in either Caligary trueSpace or Blender3D.

I know trueSpace better, but I've been meaning to figure out Blender... This seems like a good exercise.
