I just got my Neuros II 256M/ 80G bundle. The Neuros is really neat, I like it. The associated PC software, however, is another story.
My Neuros says Version 2.21.0137, Mem. Free 74,768MB Mem. Syn 74,768MB. I am running Windows XP.
I have sucessfully downloaded quite a few OGGs and some MP3 files to the Neuros via the NSM, v1.42 but the software typically freezes after a sync. So I tried to use NDBM, hearing that is better. I tried NDBM 1.30 and 1.43 but it just gives me "An exception occured. Please check the log file. Exception: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: 0 Message: 0"
Is my Neuros hardware too new? Is anyone using this software? |

I would update your NSM software to version 1.50, You can do this from NSM program or manually.

this happened to me where i use to be able to use NSM and NDBM to sync but then i think xp got screwed up and they would work anymore. you might want to try Sorune and see if that works for you. you could download this file and go into the bin folder and can run the sorune.exe file and you should be able to sync with the neuros.

Please see the NDBM FAQ to help with your NDBM problems.

Thanks Starkey for the excellent and timely reply. Had it not been 2 am in the morning when I had the problem, I might have found the FAQ myself :-).
The index bounds error seems rather obscure to a first time user. I would like to suggest some test in the code for database issue, so you could trap the error and offer a prompt "Corrupt database- Rebuild? [yes/no]". Maybe you're already planning that.

That FAQ wasn't there at 2am. It's brand spanking new!

That is the plan. Rather sooner than later...
Let me know if your problems persist.
