I have a broken headphone jack now (the same I have had for like 3 months now haaa) I know replacing the grey unit is the way to go, but I would like to use MiFi for a trip I am going on soon. The only problem is that using autodetect, it wont work! it thinks there are headphones in the jack when, in reality, there isn't even a jack. Is there any key sequence I can presss to disable headphone out and enable MiFi, and not use "autodetect"?

I can't find the compiled firmware file anywhere! Can you post a link? Err, even maybe compile it for me? Thanks!

| Heh, your guess is as mine. Heck, I'm one of the webmasters and I still don't know where to get the compiled versien. Gar Bage will probably pop in here at some point and link you up, or email it to you. |

Caught him on IRC... here is your link. http://tinyurl.com/6njue Click the top newer item (not 4 weeks old), and then click "(download)". |

Yeah, it looks like if you can get it to autodetect no headphones, you can later plug them in and both work. Now, my issue is it thinks there are always headphones, and I can't get the MiFi to turn on! If I am just smokin crack or something and it does work, please tell me how. That and is there an English build of the firmware? "Ni Puta Madre" did however make me laugh for the unidentified song list.

I am wondering if someone could help me out and compile a version that has MiFi on no matter what, even if the neuros thinks the headphones are plugged in... Someone would be my personal hero for like a month!

If the garbage branch of the firmware can broadcast while the neuros thinks the headphones are plugged in, how can I change the station on which it broadcasts? I have tried using it, and it auto sets to 104.1, but when it plays, there is nothing. Not silence, but just background noise that is there when it is off. And thanks for the installation instructions, and the waiver of responsibility, don't be so condecending, I have had this device since firmware 1.29 was new.

I don't believe he was trying to be condecending. Loup, the issue with the firmware is that the feature was disabled because of crashes. He needs an older version of the compiled firmware, or a hacked copy. Though I don't think the crashes would give him what he wants...
In the end, I think you just have a broken Neuros, man. Sorry. |

Yeah, crashes = not fun, but I am willing to try anything out right now as I have a road trip coming up this weekend, which version do you think I should try out?

That functionality was removed on the latest binary releases of the branch. You can try older ones and see if they fit. Read the changelog, and/or commit logs to check what version do you need. They are all available from the link posted by loup.
And he did quite well by warning you the way he did. The binaries posted there are experimental and not supported by DI.

Awesome, thank you! Just what I was looking for. I hope I don't do anything to upset the neuros gods so this will last me on my trip!

TinyURL is evil.
May i beg you not to use TinyURL?
It's kinda annoying not to know where the links will take you.
Please use the alternate way (BBCode) of posting links if they are too long.

| I do understand what liebowij was asking now, and I am sorry if you took the warning in my post to be condecending but that certainly wasn't the intent. |
