I'm not wanting to "push" a political view, but I just made this fun political image that I thought some may enjoy. NA folks may remove it, and that's fine. I just want to share the fun.

bush flip flops just as much... he even said that we found wmds in Iraq, but where are they now
quote:
BUSH SAYS WE FOUND THE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION..."We found the weapons of mass destruction. We found biological laboratories...for those who say we haven't found the banned manufacturing devices or banned weapons, they're wrong, we found them." [President Bush, Interview in Poland, 5/29/03]
good old bush even more of bush's flip flops...

| You know... if I want propoganda ("Kerry Flip Flops") there is Google. The fact of the matter is, unless you want a flame war... keep this stuff off the forums. (I've tried talking to GarBage about his sig, but he's from Spain, so he's technically a third party) There are some of us who feel really strongly about our politics, and even more of us who are incredibly passionate about unjustified death and suffering. If you want to vote, go do it. I encourage you to. But posting here is only going to get you a lot of (insert negative adjective here) responses. |

I don't want to discuss politics here because this isn't the place for it. I posted because I'm pleased with my work, and I thought others would enjoy it.

Honestly, I am giving him a break. Propoganda is offensive on either side. Unless you're willing to give solid facts rather than snide remarks and catchy puns, I'm going to be offended at what you say. Things like this are exactly why people are misinformed about politics. They see something online, and immediately they get an impression about something without knowing any facts.
I'm just as justified by saying Bush is killing thousands of people so he can line his pockets with the teeth of the children starving to death in Iraq. I could also say he's going to war for oil. At least one of these statements is true. Does that strike a nerve?
I'm not saying he isn't allowed his freedom of speech or his right to Photoshop. But if you're willing to offend someone, you should be willing to be rebutted. |

That says more about the people reading/viewing it than the creator of it. Also, this isn't limited to politics, or the internet. I thought the image was clever, but I didn't base my political view on it.
That said, there's a time and place to discuss politics. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, based on fact or not. But, if you express your opinion, you have to be willing to discuss it. I'd rather this not happen on these forums, as political discussions usually turn into shouting matches or flame wars, but this is an open forum.
Anyway, carry on... |

You guys are taking this much easier than one of my other forums. :) It's a creative arts forum and I'm getting hammered for my work. Like my first sentence says, I'm not trying to push my political view. I'm sure even "liberals" see the humor in the image even if they don't agree with the idea behind it.
What's disappointing is that a couple of the many Photoshop forums of which I'm a member have deleted my posts from their "user showcase" forums because my content is political. I'm glad you guys are, for the most part, being nice. :)

And, aside from noted above, I did find it funny. And it is well done. But it's still political, and as I am a Kerry backer (no comments, please) I felt the need to respond. I'm glad that we can all share a point of view without getting too up-in-arms.
I have to agree with Kronin. In the future, let's keep politics off these forums, please? There's too many people like me on either side of the fence lurking about.
(Edit:
quote: That says more about the people reading/viewing it than the creator of it.
I wasn't saying anything about 8thNote. And my point wasn't that these people are especially smart or otherwise, but that they are voters. People vote without knowing the facts; that's the problem.) |

Politics aside, it's neither that funny or creative. I've seen much better.
Otherwise, webkid pretty much has it right. |

Politics aside, I thought it was pretty creative and realistic. My wife is a graphic designer, so I can appreciate how much work must have gone into it. :)

I've worked with professional graphic designers and it would take most of them about ten minutes to create something similiar to that.
And saying Kerry is a flip flopper is neither funny or creative.
Neither is saying that Bush is stupid.
That is merely pointing out obvious characterizations that most people have heard a thousand times already. |

I believe "creative" was referring to the method in which he conveyed the idea. That's the beauty of graphic design, it's not just somebody being snide after mentioning they work with "professionals".
Please leave this topic alone unless we're going to be civil. Everyone agreed that we don't want flames here. |

Ok, creative folks. Staying off topic and with no flames, how about a Letterman style top ten list of reasons a Neuros owner would vote for Bush and a similar list for Kerry.
For example, #10 reason a Neuros owner would vote for Bush : DI would keep their tax breaks and keep improving the Neuros; #9 Neuros brick could be used as weapon of defense if necessary; #8 ...
#10 reason a Neuros owner would vote for Kerry: MIFI is really pronounced MEEFEE and is named after a French lady of the night; #9 most owners of Neuros who live in the south like to wear flip-flops #8... |

LOL! Great idea! Obviously, our politics would still come through (as they do in almost anything we say), but I think that really would be a fun thing to do.
*trying to come up with list*

Well then.. on the topic of politics... It's kinda old news now, but who else thought that the rectangular 'brick' that Bush was wearing was a Neuros?? Wow... what a great ad campaign for Neuros. DI sure likes their tax breaks, that's why they hooked up the president with some freebies. :)

| I find it funny that the most popular attack on Kerry is that he is a "flip-flopper" as though it is a bad thing to change your mind. The sad thing is many people buy into it. And the worse thing is Bush espoused the same thing during the debates. I expected more from him for some reason. Many people need to stop voting on sentiment and start voting on the issues. I used to support Bush, but I flip-flopped and now I support Kerry. |
