Hi

I was wondering what kind of voltage range the charging circuitry can take ? Judgeing by the specs on the TL5001CD its range can be anywhere from 3.3v to 40v. The (included) AC->DC adapter is rated at 9vdc 800 ma.

The reason im asking is that I already have a car adapter for my phone and I was wondering if it is possible to use that directly - (The car adapter is simply a fused output to the male jack ).

Since the car DC voltages range greatly from 12-20VDC does the car charger do some special line filtering that I should be concerned about ?

Thanks
Z

The car adapter is simply a fused output, just like the cell phone charger you described. Car DC voltages shouldn't exceed 14 volts or so over 1 second, unless there's a problem. In any case, the converter is fairly tolerant; it should take between 5 and 16 volts to remain efficient and safe, I remember hearing; I'll go and check the specs out again to be sure.
