Ok, first note to the guys at Sorune: registration at your forums is not working, because the forum complains about some spamcop.net refusal when it tries to send the confirmation email. If you haven't gotten any new users in a while, now you know why.
On to the actual topic. I added a hack to the GarBage branch of the Neuros firmware a few weeks ago that records the tracks played in XMMS's scrobblerqueue.txt format. See my homepage for more info: http://www.krose.org/~krose/freesoftware.html.
Now, what I'd really like to see is this support formalized and integrated into Sorune so audioscrobbler will be updated whenever you sync. Really, the firmware should again be changed to clean up the support and put the data into a different format, and I'm willing to work with someone on the Sorune team to get a format that the Neuros can easily write and which Sorune can easily read and throw over to AudioScrobbler. Of course, I need to have a way to CONTACT them first, which motivated the rant at the top of this post.
So, if someone's interested in helping me with this, that would be great. Please contact me by email: krose@krose.org.
Cheers, Kyle |

Hey, I really like this firmware mod! I think it should be officially integrated into the official firmware... But I'd like to propose two improvements... the first is about the logged information... It seems to log only the path/filename, and I think it would be better to log the tags from the database. Another thing that slightly bothered me was that the firmware logs every file that starts playing, while I think it would be cooler to log only those files that played for longer then 10 secs or something, 'cause I often just jump through my songs till I find something i wanna listen to... |
